Way to go, Australia: Government to kill sharks before they attack humans

Following a record number of attacks this year, and retracting his earlier stand, the leader of a state on Australia’s west coast announced Thursday that any great white sharks seen near beachgoers would be killed in order to prevent attacks on humans.

"We will always put the lives and safety of beachgoers ahead of the shark," Western Australia Premier Colin Barnett told ABC Radio Australia. ”This is, after all, a fish — let’s keep it in perspective.”

JFC IT’S NOT JUST A FISH YOU’RE MESSING WITH AN ENTIRE ECO SYSTEM BECAUSE THEY ARE THE APEX PREDATOR OF THE SEA AND BITCHES ARE ALREADY CULLING THEM FOR THEIR FINS AND NOW YOU’RE GOING TO KILL THEM BECAUSE PEOPLE FUCKING WANDER IN THE SHARKS’ BACKYARD???

Yes, I can see the logic here.

I live and swim in the most dangerous waters in the world as it is (I live in the shark bite capital of the world, dudes) and I know every time me and my dog step into the ocean we’re risking a limb. A shark is within (statically speaking) 5 feet of us at any given time.

But let’s totally kill them, because we’re humans and that’s what we do best.
